Orthodontics

in Buffalo, Amherst, Lancaster and Orchard Park, NY

Orthodontics is a special discipline in dentistry concerned with properly aligning teeth and jaws. Having straight teeth and a proper bite is not just about aesthetics. At Forestream Dental Group, located right here in the Buffalo area, we find that straight teeth and a proper bite produce better overall oral health.

Misaligned teeth and improperly aligned jaws can cause faster tooth decay, gum disease, neck and shoulder problems, and TMJ. In addition, they can cause self-esteem and confidence issues.

Not your parent's braces

In our parent's time, the only choice for straightening teeth was metal braces. Now in additional to metal braces (which still work just fine), there are colored braces, clear braces and aligner systems, like Invisalign.

Early Treatment

Many years ago, it was only teens who wore braces and they were often made fun of. Now braces are popular and almost every child has them and has them at an earlier age. Dr. Evola recommends that children be evaluated for orthodontic care by the age of seven. Sometimes starting orthodontic care earlier can make for shorter treatment times.

Adult Treatment

More and more adults are now being treated with orthodontics too. Many who feel they are "too old" for traditional braces are choosing Invisalign to straighten their teeth. Read more about how it works on our Invisalign page.

If you suspect that you or your children need orthodontic treatment, don't hesitate to call or email Forestream Dental Group today to schedule your complimentary consultation. We'll discuss all of your options as well as treatment times and costs. Be sure to ask about the available financing programs we have. We're just around the corner from you - proudly serving Buffalo and the surrounding communities!
