If you really want to have straight, beautiful teeth but don't want to go through the hassle of traditional metal braces, Forestream Dental Group has an alternative in the form of clear braces.

Advantages of Ceramic (Clear) Braces

Ceramic braces are more aesthetically pleasing than metal braces and are more comfortable for the inside of your mouth. They offer some of the same advantages as metal braces such as good tooth movement control, and the ability to treat more complicated cases than Invisalign can treat at this time.

And contrary to popular belief, they don't stain easily. The ligatures on the braces can stain, but those will be changed at every check-up visit or more often if you need them to be. Unless you drink a lot of black coffee or smoke, you shouldn't need to worry about staining.

Disadvantages of Clear Braces

They can be more expensive, treatment can last longer and they can be more difficult and painful to remove when treatment is over.

Invisalign

If you're a candidate for it, Invisalign offers many advantages over both metal and clear braces. Invisalign clear braces are:

• More hygienic
• Removable
• More comfortable
• Easy to care for
• Resistant to staining

The only real disadvantages of Invisalign are (a) that it cannot treat severe and complex orthodontic problems at this time and (b) it is more expensive than metal or clear braces.
